3 1/2 month retightening..

I haven't posted in a while and I thought I'd wait until 6 months locks, but since I am online viewing other people's blog, I would go ahead an post a pic. My hair is growing like crazy in some areas and in some areas hardly. In 5 weeks, I can have as much as 1" of new growth.
I have decided to take the R/T class so that I can touch up my edges in between visits, because I don't like my hair with the afro look at the roots. But all in all, my hair to me is doing swell, my locks are definitely thickening, which I am grateful.
Since my last blog, I have added VO5 clarifying shampoo to my wash my locks with the S/L shampoo as well. I seem to get a better lather after using VO5 then the S/L shampoo.

My First B&B (braid and band) followed by my after B&B Hairstyle w/ Lock Loops!!

This was my first B&B and it wasn't as bad as I imagined it would be..but it was a little time consuming. Based upon how my consultant informed me to wash my hair and also by what I have read from the online forums, I choose to use my Sisterlock shampoo from a spray bottle. I found this to be an easy way to apply the shampoo since I was able to spray my hair and apply the shampoo evenly. I wasn't able to find many suds the 1st round, but the second round produced enough to convince me the shampoo does work.

I then let my hair air dry because I wanted to use my lock loops on my freshly washed sisterlocks. The results after my B&B then using lockloops was magnificent. My curls looks so much better than when I just spray my hair with water and use the lock loops..But then again, it could just be in my head..or rather..I took my time and sectioned my hair in smaller parts..

My first Retighening - no pics

Two weeks after officially gaining new found freedom with my hair, I was scheduled for my 1st retighening. It took almost 5 hours which I thought was a little unusual, especially since I just gave birth to my babies two weeks prior. I did ask questions because I thought I would be in and out of there in two hours, but I was told she was ensuring that each of my babies were doing what they were suppose too. I also was happy that I didn't have much slippage..just around the nape of the neck. I forgot to take before and after pics, but next week (Jul 9), my 2nd retightening, I will have them and post them sooner rather than later.

Day 3: Lock Loops Style

Thi is Day 3 for me. I spritzed my hair with water, and used my lock loops to curl my hair and slept in them as well. They are quite comfortable..more comfy than the pink or black roller from back in the day also. Since my LocSoc wouldn't fit with my lock loops, I just slept in my satin cap. I love the curl the lock loops produced upon taking them out the following morning. I accented my hair with a 99 cent headband from the beauty supply store with no teeth on the bottom side, and just finger combed my curls.... Curls lasted all through the day (which is amazing for my hair mixed with the humidity), but I probably won't be able to say I still have curls in the morning..but we shall see. Day 2: 27 hours later

This is the end result. I was and still am excited of joining with my new hairstyle and of becoming a new member of the Sisterlock Family. This picture was taken when I only have my lock loops in my hair for one hour. I had to take them out and run and see an old friend from highschool...

Day 1: May 27, 2010

After going 3 1/2 month without a perm, I finally had 2" of new growth and 4-5" of permed ends. My hair endured some damage (I guess from the wig I wore during the period of allowing my hair to grow the perm out). I had to get about 2" cut since the nape area had extreme breakage as well. But it was no big deal, because I know my hair will grow back in NO TIME.
